Of course you’re one lucky business if you manage to get a nomination, just like the Oscars, if you did manage to get your business nominated then you’ll be riding those coat tales for all of next year.
The category that interests and intrigues me the most is the Best Social Media Management Tool. The reason I like this category is pretty simple. It’s because the Social Media Networking game has taken an up turn big time.
Back in the dark dim good old days (1 Year Ago) Social Media Marketing was virtually amateurish, like it was a thing you did while you were sort of playing around with the idea of marketing to all your followers, friends and associates.
You weren’t really very serious, you just were testing the water so to speak. This was also the attitude that small business and corporations took, before they all were coerced into believing there was a new untapped market in the Social Media industry.
Now entering 2011 and every man and his dog is chatting Social Media marketing. People have been hired, fired and sired while hammering the Social Networking phenomenon, each vicing for followers, friends and business leads to sell sell sell.
And the Nominees for “Best Social Media Management Tool” Are ..
Who Unfollowed Me – (They say/) – who.unfollowed.me is a simple twitter app based around tracking the people that unfollow you.
IMHO – Why would anyone want to know who unfollowed you? I mean what possible benefit could a marketer glean from knowing who it was that unfollowed them. Surely the fact that the person, business or company unfollowed is fact enough to know you’re not doing it right, right?
Wildfire App – (They say/) – Interactive Promotions for Brand Marketing by Wildfire Promotion Builder at Wildfire Interactive, Inc.
IMHO – On the surface this tool looks cool. Dig a little deeper and one finds out that all the “features” purported are all based on what your business and or company can supply to the service. In other words, this tool isn’t really giving a social marketer any special “tool” at all, although the “Tool” does certainly reap the monthly payment rates from the social media customer. Other than that, I wouldn’t vote for WildFire if is was wild and on fire.
uberVU – (They say/) Real-time Social Media Analytics.
IMHO – Ok I must admit it, I like this one. If you’re a stats reader and interpreter then you’ve hit gold with this service. If you’re not a stats understander (not a word I know but hey why not) then this service is just going to go over or under your head.
TweetDeck – (They say/) – TweetDeck: A simple and fast way to experience Twitter.
IMHO – The description at Tweetdeck summarizes it all. For a Twitter marketer Tweetdeck must be a must have. Anything less and you’re wasting your time.
HootSuite – (They say/) -Social Media Dashboard for Teams using multiple Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Ping.fm and WordPress Accounts
IMHO – This service is definitely a real hard working, no nonsense, clever, usable service. If you’re using Social Media Networking sites to generate business for your business then this IS the tool to get into. Compared to all the others in this particular category, HootSuite reins supreme. Like comparing chips to a Sunday roast lamb, Hootsuite is the roast lamb .. right?
